LEGAL TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS

Cybersecurity Services

Protect sensitive information. Strengthen access. Prepare your people.
ProExpress Process helps small law firms and professional businesses assess cybersecurity risks, strengthen security controls, and prepare employees to recognize and report suspicious activity.
Our services bring together technical protection, employee awareness, security monitoring, and incident preparedness. We focus on practical improvements that fit your operations—not simply adding more software.
Whether you need an assessment, help securing your Microsoft 365 environment, cybersecurity training, or ongoing security administration, we establish a clear scope around your needs.
🧭 What Is Cybersecurity?
Cybersecurity involves protecting systems, accounts, and information while preparing to detect, respond to, and recover from security incidents. An effective approach combines technology, employee practices, and clear responsibilities rather than relying on a single product.
At ProExpress Process, we help translate those responsibilities into an actionable plan: identify what needs protection, review existing controls, address priority weaknesses, and establish how concerns should be handled.
Services are tailored to your environment, available technology, licensing, and agreed support coverage.
🔍 Security Assessments & Risk Reviews

Understand Your Current Position
We begin by reviewing the agreed parts of your technology environment and the information your business needs to protect.
An assessment may examine account permissions, email security, device protection, software updates, external sharing, backup arrangements, and existing response procedures.
Findings are organized into a prioritized action plan showing the issue, its potential business impact, recommended improvements, and the person responsible for the next step. This reflects a risk-based approach rather than treating every finding as equally urgent.
The review also identifies coverage gaps and questions requiring further investigation. An assessment does not certify that an environment is free of vulnerabilities.

🎓 Cybersecurity Awareness Training
Help Employees Recognize and Report Suspicious Activity
Give your team practical guidance for the situations they encounter at work.
Our awareness-training service can include onboarding education, scheduled refresher assignments, completion tracking, reminders, and targeted follow-up. Training emphasizes recognizing suspicious activity and knowing how to report it—both central elements of CISA’s employee-awareness guidance.

📧 Phishing & Impersonation Awareness
Help employees identify suspicious messages, unexpected attachments, unusual requests, and communications claiming to come from colleagues, clients, vendors, or management.

🔐 Account & Password Practices
Provide guidance on protecting business accounts, using approved authentication methods, and responding to unexpected sign-in or verification requests.

📂 Sensitive Information & Document Sharing
Reinforce the organization’s approved practices for handling client files, sharing documents, checking recipients, and reporting accidental disclosures.

💳 Payment-Request Verification
Teach employees to follow the organization’s verification process when receiving requests to change payment instructions, send funds, or disclose financial information.

🚩 Reporting Without Delay
Make the reporting process clear, including what employees should do after opening a suspicious attachment, following an unexpected link, or noticing unusual account activity.
Training is designed to encourage early reporting and improvement—not to make employees afraid to admit a mistake.
🎣 Phishing Simulations & Targeted Follow-Up
Turn Awareness into Practice
Authorized phishing simulations provide controlled opportunities for employees to recognize and report test messages. Reviewing simulation outcomes can help identify where additional education is needed.
We help coordinate approved campaigns through the selected training platform. Scenarios may involve impersonation, unexpected document-sharing messages, account notifications, or other situations relevant to your workplace.

📝 Campaign Planning
We agree on the participating employees, campaign objectives, timing, authorization, and access to results before testing begins.

🎯 Educational Follow-Up
Employees who need additional guidance can receive focused refresher training. Follow-up is based on the available results and the organization’s approved program.

📊 Leadership Reporting
Reports may summarize participation, message reporting, recorded interactions, assigned follow-up, and changes across campaigns.

Simulations are for education—not embarrassment. Campaigns are designed not to collect employees’ real passwords. Results are handled through agreed access and reporting arrangements.
🔐 Account, Email & Device Protection
🪪 Identity & Access Security
Strengthen control over who can access business systems.
We help review user permissions, administrative accounts, inactive users, and access changes associated with employee onboarding or departure. Where supported, work may include multifactor authentication, appropriate sign-in restrictions, and stronger protection for privileged accounts.
Multifactor authentication adds verification beyond a password, and CISA recommends phishing-resistant methods where available.
Access changes are implemented with approval and consideration for recovery access, compatibility, and business continuity.

📧 Email & Impersonation Protection
Review the protections surrounding your business communications.
Services may include configuring supported anti-phishing policies, impersonation protections, malicious-link and attachment controls, quarantine handling, and suspicious-message reporting.
For Microsoft 365 environments, available capabilities depend on the licensed services. Microsoft Defender for Office 365 includes email-protection features, with different investigation and simulation capabilities across its plans.
We review what is available in your environment rather than assuming that every subscription includes the same protection.

💻 Endpoint Protection
Help protect the computers and supported devices employees use.
We assist with deploying and administering approved endpoint-security tools, checking protection status, reviewing relevant alerts, and coordinating authorized corrective action.
Depending on the selected product, capabilities may include malware protection, vulnerability visibility, and endpoint detection and response—tools for identifying and investigating suspicious device activity. Microsoft Defender for Business provides these types of capabilities, subject to supported platforms and licensing.
Devices that cannot support the agreed controls are identified for remediation, replacement, or a documented exception.

☁️ Cloud Workspace & Sharing Reviews
Strengthen security around the way your team uses cloud applications.
For supported environments, we review approved areas such as account access, administrative permissions, external sharing, connected applications, and device requirements.
The objective is to identify unnecessary exposure while preserving the collaboration your business needs. Recommendations are reviewed with your designated decision-makers before changes are implemented.

🌐 Network & Remote-Access Security
Review the supported connections into and within your business environment.
Work may include assessing firewall settings, remote-access arrangements, unnecessary exposed services, and separation of guest access from business resources.
Changes are planned around compatibility, authorization, and operational requirements. Reviewing remote access, unused services, software updates, and cloud configurations is consistent with CISA’s organizational security guidance.
🔄 Vulnerability Management & Remediation
Move from Findings to Corrective Action
Identify weaknesses in supported systems and track the work needed to address them.
Where included, services may involve authorized vulnerability scanning, configuration reviews, update-status checks, and follow-up verification. Recommendations can include applying security updates, changing configurations, removing unnecessary services, or replacing unsupported systems.
Findings are prioritized according to the agreed risk criteria and business impact. Remediation is coordinated with the responsible administrator, application owner, or vendor.
Scanning scope, maintenance windows, exclusions, and approval requirements are established before work begins.
📋 Security Logging, Monitoring & Alert Review
Make Important Activity Visible
Security logs can help establish what happened in a system and support investigation of suspicious activity. Useful logging requires decisions about which events to collect, how to protect the records, and who will review them.
We help configure agreed log sources, retention settings, and selected alerts. Depending on the environment, reviews may address unusual sign-ins, repeated access failures, unexpected administrative changes, or endpoint-security detections.
Relevant findings are assessed and escalated according to the service agreement.
An alert is a signal to investigate—not proof of an attack or employee misconduct. Monitoring coverage, human review hours, escalation procedures, and response responsibilities are defined in advance.
🗂️ Information Protection & Recovery Readiness
🔒 Data-Handling & Encryption Controls
Help implement the organization’s approved approach to protecting business information.
Work may include reviewing access restrictions, supported encryption settings, sharing arrangements, and recovery-key handling. Encryption can help protect stored information, but implementation must account for backups and the ability to recover access.
We coordinate technical changes with the people responsible for the information and its permitted use.

💾 Backup & Recovery Reviews
Understand what can be recovered and what remains exposed.
We help review agreed backup coverage, access protection, retention settings, and restore-testing arrangements. Recovery planning includes identifying critical systems and checking that usable backups are available; CISA recommends testing backups as part of incident preparedness.
Where ongoing backup administration is included, responsibilities are documented separately. A review does not automatically mean every application, device, or cloud service is being backed up.
🚨 Incident Preparedness & Response Coordination
Know Who Does What Before an Incident Occurs
We help establish practical procedures for reporting suspected incidents, contacting decision-makers, authorizing response actions, and coordinating with relevant providers.
Preparation may include reviewing escalation contacts and walking through a realistic scenario with leadership. CISA recommends designated response responsibilities and exercises so participants understand their roles before an incident occurs.
Where included, incident support may involve assessing available alerts, coordinating authorized containment, preserving relevant records, and assisting with recovery or specialist escalation.
Digital forensics, major breach response, legal advice, notification decisions, and other specialist work require an appropriate separate scope.
📑 Security Policies, Documentation & Audit Support
Put Responsibilities in Writing
We help document the technical and operational practices agreed for your environment.
Work may address access approvals, employee onboarding and offboarding, acceptable use, remote work, information sharing, security reporting, and incident escalation.
For organizations preparing for an external review, we can help assemble technical records and track approved remediation tasks.
Our role is to support the technical work and documentation. We do not provide legal opinions, independent certification, or guarantees of regulatory compliance.
⚖️ Cybersecurity for Law Firms & Professional Businesses
We tailor the engagement around the systems and workflows your organization uses.
For law firms, planning can focus on client communications, matter-related documents, intake information, billing processes, remote access, and staff changes.
Security recommendations are developed with your designated decision-makers so access restrictions, training expectations, and response procedures reflect actual job responsibilities.
The firm remains responsible for legal determinations and preservation instructions. We implement the approved technical arrangements and identify limitations that require further attention.

🤝 Standalone Security Support or Part of Managed IT
Cybersecurity services can be arranged as a defined assessment, an implementation project, an employee-training program, or ongoing administration of selected controls.
They can also complement Managed IT or work alongside an existing technology provider. Responsibilities are assigned explicitly so monitoring, updates, response, and reporting are not left between providers.
Licensing, support hours, monitoring coverage, training frequency, response arrangements, and specialist services are specified in writing.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is cybersecurity the same as Managed IT?
The services overlap, but their focus differs. Our Managed IT service addresses ongoing technology support and maintenance. Cybersecurity engagements focus on agreed risks, protective controls, employee awareness, detection, and incident preparedness.
The two can be combined with clear responsibilities.

Do you provide employee cybersecurity training and phishing simulations?
Yes. These can be included in a defined security program, with agreed assignments, authorized campaigns, completion tracking, educational follow-up, and leadership reporting.

We already have Microsoft 365. Do we need additional security work?
We assess the protection available in your subscription, how it is configured, and who is responsible for managing it. Microsoft’s security capabilities vary by product and plan, so a subscription alone does not establish the scope of your protection or support.

Can you work with our existing IT provider?
Yes. An engagement can focus on a specific assessment, training program, security configuration, or other defined requirement. Access, change approvals, remediation, and escalation responsibilities are agreed with the relevant parties.

Do you provide 24/7 security monitoring and response?
Continuous automated collection or alerting is not the same as round-the-clock human investigation and response. Your proposal states the monitoring and response coverage provided; 24/7 staffed response should not be assumed.

Will you guarantee that we cannot be hacked?
No. We do not promise complete protection or guaranteed detection of every threat. We commit to performing the agreed work, documenting limitations, and following the defined review and escalation procedures.
🛡️ Ready to Strengthen Your Cybersecurity?
Start with a clearer understanding of your risks, the protections already in place, and the improvements that deserve attention first.
